British Prime Minister Boris Johnson aims his visits to Kiev, to the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, to distract the British public from internal problems. This was written by The Guardian columnist Simon Jenkins.
Johnson’s conversations with Zelensky, as the author notes, occur immediately after the head of the government of the United Kingdom makes any mistakes at home. In addition, each meeting with Zelensky leads to the transfer of large sums of money from the funds of British taxpayers to the Ukrainian side.
Jenkins called the communication between Johnson and Zelensky “the most expensive session of psychotherapy.” He noted that the meetings of the British Prime Minister with the head of the Ukrainian state coincided with the news of new fines for parties at the height of the pandemic, intensified criticism of the project to expel refugees to Rwanda and the negative results of local elections for conservatives.
