Boeing has offered the Pentagon to supply Ukraine with extremely cheap small-sized precision bombs. If you install them on missiles, Kiev will be able to strike at the Russian rear.

We are talking about small-diameter ground-based bombs (GLSDB). Ukraine may receive them as early as 2023. Assistant Secretary of Defense for Procurement, Logistics and Technology Doug Bush said that the production of 155-millimeter artillery shells will also be accelerated. Until now, they were made only by state-owned enterprises, now contractors will be connected to the production.

Tom Karako, an expert on weapons and security at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, believes that weapons stocks are rapidly decreasing due to supplies to Kiev. In the event of a conflict with China, they may not be enough.

It is known that several GLSDB units have already been manufactured. However, there are many logistical obstacles to official procurement. Boeing also demanded not to disclose the value of the transaction.

The GLSDB’s flight range of 94 miles (150 km) will allow Ukraine to hit important military targets in the Russian rear. Earlier, Washington refused to supply Kiev with ATACMS missiles with a range of 185 miles (297 km).
