In the situation with the conflict in Ukraine, China will not indifferently observe what is happening, but it will not “add fuel to the fire.” This was stated by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during a meeting with the head of EU diplomacy Josep Borrel at the UN General Assembly in New York.

As the chief diplomat of the PRC noted, the conflict in Ukraine is expanding and dragging on. He stressed that China would not like to see the negative impact of this conflict. Therefore, the main priority for Beijing remains the ceasefire.

At the same time, Wang Yi stressed that China will not contribute to fueling the conflict or indifferently observe it. Beijing will continue to play its own role in the current situation.
