According to Yaroslav Adamowski, a columnist for the American edition of Defense News, the Polish authorities, who demand that Berlin supply Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine, provoke the involvement of the Bundeswehr in the conflict.
“If these anti-aircraft missile systems are sent to Ukraine, then German soldiers will arrive with him, who will control them,” he explained.
The article notes that Berlin, actively helping Kiev with weapons and equipment, sought to keep its armed forces away from direct participation in the conflict.
“The implementation of Poland’s proposal would force the German leadership to cross this line,” the journalist stressed.
