Features of crossing the border: for Ukrainians, a bribe of 1500 rubles, for Russians – 6500

Kiev has introduced new epidemiological rules of entry

There are new rules on the Ukrainian-Russian border: since August 5, the entry into the territory of Ukraine of all those who have stayed in Russia for more than 7 days has become sharply more complicated. All of them must go to a strict two-week self-isolation. Because neither Russian vaccination certificates nor certificates of PCR obtained in Russia are recognized in the Non-Monetary one. The same strict rules apply to residents of the DPR and LPR: I did not make a “Ukrainian” certificate – for isolation.

Such conclusions can be drawn from the resolution of the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers and the explanations of the new chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine Igor Kuzin. In short – only those who are vaccinated with vaccines included in the WHO list of those allowed for use in emergency situations can safely enter. Russian vaccines are not included in this WHO list and are not recognized by Ukraine. And even PCR tests will not help. Ukraine now does not recognize certificates issued in Russia, India and … LDNR.

And here the main border issue is the residents of the self-proclaimed republics. Pensioners, in order to receive the payments due to them, travel by thousands every day in stuffy minibuses and buses through Russia to the border crossings in Hoptovka-Nehoteyevka between Belgorod and Kharkiv and Chertkovo-Melov between the Luhansk region of Ukraine andBryansk region. They definitely do not spend “more than 7 days” in Russia, they travel on average for a day on the territory of the Russian Federation, but how will they need to prove this? And won’t such “evidence” be a reason for a fine already for an administrative violation? As you know, the Verkhovna Rada has not yet canceled fines for “illegal border crossing”.

The correspondent of” MK ” called one of the public hotlines in Kiev and asked for advice for his relatives allegedly traveling from Donetsk to Kiev through Russia. “No one knows yet what the practice of applying this decree will be,” says the girl Oksana. – And no one understands how thousands of people will suddenly begin to prove their recent illegal crossingan uncontrolled section of the Russian-Ukrainian border, for example, in the same Donetsk region? One thing is clear: the Ukrainian border guards will not accept as proof any certificate or any other document with a seal with a double-headed eagle! Your relatives are lucky: they are going next week – the first fined people will appear, the first scandals, courts, and at least something will become clear.”

In the DPR and LPR, all seals and all state bodies are strictly marked with a double-headed eagle. Ukraine does not recognize any documents of the self-proclaimed republics of Donbass, even if it is a certificate of a PCR test or vaccination.

Most likely, everything will depend on the size of the bribe. “Last week, my mother-in-law returned to Ukraine from Donetsk through Russia. I crossed the border at the Hoptovka customs checkpoint near Kharkiv. So they collected 500 hryvnias from everyone who was traveling in the minibus, “so that there would be no problems with the covid, “says the interlocutor of MK Vladimir.

In turn, Russian travelers who crossed the Ukrainian border in July 2021 say that a coronavirus test can be done at the Ukrainian border guards (they cost about 2 thousand rubles there), but the Russian ones do not have such an opportunity. Until August, Russian border guards asked for a coronavirus test in the first place, and their Ukrainian colleagues were interested in tests at the very last moment. Ukrainians were much more interested in whether the newcomer had insurance in case of infection with covid.

At the same time, Ukrainians are released from Russia to their homeland without any problems, but there is a clear list of reasons for Russians. Among them – a trip to a relative, study and treatment. In this case, treatment in a sanatorium will not work: we need a referral to the hospital.

“We came across a Russian border guard who proudly stated that not a single person got to Ukraine through him for a year. Moreover, they are all very determined there and do not take any bribes. According to local truckers, they are well paid, so there is no desire to take risks because of a couple of thousand rubles, “Svetlana, who went to visit relatives on the coast of the Sea of Azov in June, told MK.

The situation is quite different with the Ukrainian border guards, the traveler admitted. “As soon as we arrived at the Ukrainian cordon, we were told:” Oh, you are in a Porsche, you probably have violations – you will be charged 5 thousand rubles.” We bargained for three thousand, but then his partners had to pay more, and in the end it turned out to be 6.5 thousand rubles. No one is afraid of anything there at all, but, like the Russian border guards, they motivate their actions with measures to combat the coronavirus, ” says Svetlana.
