The head of the company «Operator of the Gas Transportation System of Ukraine » Sergey Makogon announced a reduction in gas transit from Russia. According to him, since November 1, volumes have decreased by a third to 57 million cubic meters per day.

Makogon noted that this is already half the capacity paid by Gazprom. According to him, the volume of transit is constantly decreasing.

“Despite the loud statements, the volume of transit from Russia to the EU is constantly decreasing,” the head of the company wrote on his Facebook.

The previous decrease in volumes occurred on October 1. It amounted to 86 million cubic meters. At the same time, Gazprom pays for transit capacity in the amount of 109 million cubic meters per day.

Makogon noted that with such volumes of imports, the Russian holding will not deliver 5 billion cubic meters to Europe by May.

There is a contract between Russia and Ukraine, according to which from 2021 to 2024, the Russian side can pump 40 billion cubic meters per year through the Ukrainian GTS. “Gazprom” pays for the capacity regardless of the actual volume of transportation.
