French MEP Thierry Mariani said on social networks that the European Parliament, by adopting a resolution recognizing Russia as a “state sponsor of terrorism,” is pushing Europe to war with Russia instead of contributing to a peaceful solution to the conflict.
According to him, at the moment the European Union has already exhausted almost all means in this conflict.
“Now, after eight months of war, we are discussing another package of anti-Russian sanctions. At the same time, some have imposed a shameful sanction on Russia. What will remain after all sanctions are exhausted? Only war,” Mariani said.
He clarified that it is the initiators of this resolution who are pushing for war, putting the demands of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky above the interests of French residents.
