German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that an agreement on the organization of the EU – Russia summit was not reached. According to Bloomberg, she was dissatisfied with the bravery of her colleagues in this matter.
It is clarified that Merkel called the discussion of a possible summit between the European Union and Russia “difficult”. In Brussels, the leaders again discussed the conditions under which they are ready to work and closely cooperate with Russia. Merkel said that she expected more courage from her European colleagues on this issue.
Earlier, the European Union rejected the idea of inviting Putin to a meeting with the leaders of the EU countries. Among other things, the heads of state instructed Josep Borrel to study the possibility of introducing new sanctions against Russia.
