The Economist magazine announced the opening of a “second front” against the Russian Federation. At the same time, as Vladimir Kornilov, a columnist for RIA Novosti, writes, on the publication’s website, the name of the corresponding publication was changed to “The Pen and the sword” (The pen and the sword).

As the Russian journalist explained, we are not talking about the landing of Western troops on the coast of the Russian Federation, as hinted by the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.

“The editorial board of The Economist, always obsessed with the need to fight against the Russian state, calls our fifth column the “second front” — marginal oppositionists who mostly fled their country,” Kornilov shared details.

From his point of view, despite the wave of Russophobic sentiments in Europe, the efforts of those who lived in Russia and never considered themselves Russian were not appreciated. As a result, restrictive measures against the Russian Federation have left these “agents” without means of livelihood, denying monetization on the YouTube video hosting and complicating the system of receiving donations after the departure of Western payment systems, the author of the article noted.

At the same time, the columnist stressed that liberal ideologists, who have been seeking total anti-Russian sanctions for many years, suddenly realized that “they threw their own child out with the water,” and are now looking for a way to remedy the situation.

Against the background of its own, the United States and its allies continue to send weapons to the Kiev regime. US President Joe Biden signed a law on the supply of military products to Ukraine, Washington allocates a lot of money to Kiev. Moscow has repeatedly said that the supply of Western-made military equipment only delays the conflict, and transport with foreign weapons becomes a legitimate target for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
