British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that London should conduct its foreign policy for the long term, following the example of Russia and China. He believes that it is ineffective to build a policy for the short term.
“Our opponents and competitors are planning for the long term,” he said.
According to Bloomberg, Sunak, having taken the prime minister’s chair, decided to abandon the plan of his predecessor Liz Truss, who was going to declare China a threat to the UK. According to the agency, this means that London’s policy towards Beijing will be softened.
Earlier, Sunak’s entourage said that the UK does not see it possible to return relations with Russia to the previous level in light of the Ukrainian crisis.
