The Czech Republic demanded compensation from Russia for the explosions in Vrbetice

The Czech authorities demanded that Russia compensate for the damage caused by the explosions in Vrbetice, the newspaper “Mlada Front Dnes” reports.

The corresponding diplomatic note was presented to the Russian Ambassador to the Czech Republic Alexander Zmeevsky by the country’s Deputy Foreign Minister Martin Smolek. The note contains a demand to fully compensate for the damage caused by the explosions.

According to the publication, the Czech Republic estimated the damage at 650 million crowns – about 2.2 billion rubles.

The explosions at the weapons depots in Vrbetice occurred in 2014. The Czech side suspects the Russian special services of what happened.

Earlier, Czech President Milos Zeman said that he did not rule out Russia’s participation in the story of the explosions at the weapons depots in Vrbetice.
