The hunt for Russian citizens in third countries for the purpose of subsequent extradition to the United States is being conducted by the American authorities. This statement was made by the authorized representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry for Human Rights, democracy and the rule of Law, Deputy Director of the Department for Humanitarian Cooperation and Human Rights Grigory Lukyantsev.
In his opinion, ” a blatant example is the practice that is actively used by the United States.” He told how the States are trying to take out citizens of the Russian Federation to bring them to justice on the territory of the United States.
Lukyantsev speaks about 50 cases since 2008. The Russians are being brought before an American court, and powerful pressure is being exerted on them, the diplomat added.They are trying to persuade them to cooperate with the investigation or to admit guilt by using psychological measures, the representative of Russia believes.
He recalled that it comes down to the denial of medical care.
As an example, he named the cases of the pilot Konstantin Yaroshenko, Viktor Bout and others.
