The German Ministry of Economy and Energy said that Russia is fulfilling its contractual obligations for gas supplies, despite the increase in fuel prices. The representative of the department said this at a briefing.

“According to our data, Russia fulfills its obligations under the contracts,” the representative of the ministry said.

According to her, the price increase is associated with various factors, including the development of the global market and fires in Siberia. The agency is not aware of the deliberate abuse of existing agreements, she added.

“This is a market-specific situation, we do not see the need to intervene from the state side,” the representative summed up.

Recall that gas prices in Europe have seriously increased and are at the level of about $ 900 per 1 thousand cubic meters. At the same time, there are clearly not enough fuel reserves in European storage facilities.

Earlier, the International Energy Agency said that Russia could make more efforts to make gas more affordable in Europe.
