The Russian Ministry of Justice has expanded the list of media – “foreign agents”. It includes a legal entity registered in Latvia, The Insider SIA. It is the administrator of the domain name of the Internet publication The Insider.

According to the agency’s website, the list also includes Open Media journalist Ilya Rozhdestvensky, employees of the Project Sofia Groisman, Mikhail Rubin and Yulia Apukhtina. The journalist Alexey Posternak was also on the list.

The Insider portal specializes in investigative journalism. The publication was founded in November 2013 by journalist and political activist Roman Dobrokhotov. The editorial office is located in Riga.

Earlier, the editor-in-chief of the Project (recognized as an undesirable organization in the Russian Federation), Roman Badanin, said that Instagram had blocked the publication’s account. This was done two days after the Prosecutor General’s Office added the publication to the list of”undesirable organizations”.

The blocking occurred for “some kind of violation of community norms”, but it is not known what it was and who complained about it. Later, access to the account was restored. Before that, the Ministry of Justice added five journalists of the “Project”, including the editor-in-chief, to the list of “foreign agents”.
