The President of Moldova is going to seek the withdrawal of Russian troops from Transnistria

Chisinau will always insist on the complete withdrawal of the Russian military contingent from the territory of the unrecognized Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. This was stated by the President of Moldova Maia Sandu, speaking at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly.

According to Sandu, Chisinau’s position regarding the Russian military presence in Transnistria remains unchanged. This implies, the head of state noted, the removal or destruction of ammunition in warehouses in the village of Kolbasna and the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of the unrecognized republic.

Sandu also expressed concern about the situation in the Black Sea region. According to the President of Moldova, her country is committed to peace and wants to seek peaceful political solutions to the conflict in Transnistria.
