Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, commented on the decision of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, not to mobilize residents of the republic due to over-fulfillment of the plan. According to her, it is necessary to extend this practice to other regions, writes “Rise”.

Bessarab believes that if a large number of residents of any region are already in the SVO zone in volunteer battalions formed before partial mobilization, then the issue of sending new soldiers should be approached differentially.

“You can’t take the entire population. If his best sons have already gone to the front, then this is quite a competent and very balanced decision,” she said.

Kadyrov said earlier that Chechnya has already “exceeded the plan” by 254% to send the military to its own zone.
