In Mali, unknown assailants attacked a convoy of peacekeeping forces near the settlement of Kidal. The terrorist attack began with a powerful explosion, presumably of a roadside IED near the location of the peacekeepers. Then the militants opened fire on the security forces. According to preliminary data, no one was injured in the shootout. The peacekeepers managed to detain two attackers.
It is not yet known which group the detainees are members of, the Telegram channel Directorate 4 writes.
The Malian authorities said that over the weekend more than one hundred and thirty civilians were killed by terrorists in the country. On June 18, an IED explosion killed a soldier of the Guinean Armed Forces from the UN peacekeeping contingent.
