Statements by US administration officials about Russia’s fault in the food crisis are false and unprofessional, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said.
Earlier, the corresponding statement was made by the head of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Samantha Power.
According to Antonov, published in the Telegram channel of the embassy’s press service, attempts to shift all responsibility to Russia are absurd in themselves.
“As always – a lot of lies. The statements are unprofessional, without proper analysis and understanding of the situation, or rather the desire to understand the essence of the problem,” Antonov said.
The Ambassador suggested that the United States is not ready to accept the impossibility of participating in the implementation of the initiative for the safe transportation of grain and food from the ports of Ukraine on July 22. He noted that the American side, in principle, ignored the fact that on the same day a corresponding memorandum was signed between Russia and the UN to promote the export of Russian agricultural products.
