The head of the Public Headquarters for Election Observation in Moscow, Alexey Venediktov, suggested that the experts of the technical group conduct an audit of the results of remote electronic voting (DEG) for the elections of deputies of the State Duma. The statement was made during the final meeting of the headquarters. According to Venediktov, during the audit, experts will be able to verify the correctness of the DEG calculations.

“We are instructing the technical group to do an audit to compare it with the final results. The deadline is until Monday (September 27). And put all the documents in open access — ” Venediktov added.

In turn, the deputy chairman of the Moscow City Election Commission, Dmitry Reut, explained why we are talking about an audit in this case.

“About rechecking the voices of DEG.  I would use the word “audit” to avoid confusion. Since we are not talking about a situation where the results are canceled in court, the protocol is canceled and the court decides on a second count, ” Reut said.
