Russian media correspondents were absent from the press conference of US President Joe Biden following the summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin because the US authorities are afraid of awkward questions. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
Speaking on the RTVI channel, Zakharova complained that ” the Americans did not allow Russian journalists to attend their press conference… We had American journalists sitting in the front rows.”
Commenting on the absence of Russian correspondents at the press conference, Zakharova stressed, implying the US authorities that “they are afraid of uncomfortable questions.”
At the same time, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the very fact of the absence of Russian media at the press conference was a serious mistake of the American side.
“The whole story about the uncensoring of the media space, the lack of control over journalists, freedom… all theory, practice – that’s it!”, – said Zakharova.
