Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev promised at a meeting in Kaliningrad that Moscow would soon respond to Vilnius’ decision to ban the transit of goods subject to EU sanctions to the Kaliningrad region.
Patrushev called this decision “a blockade at the instigation of Western countries”, which was introduced in violation of the norms and principles of international law. He noted that this example proves that neither written nor oral statements of the West can be trusted. The Secretary of the Russian Security Council stressed that Russia will certainly respond to such “hostile actions”.”.
The relevant measures, he added, are now being developed in an interdepartmental format and will be taken in the near future.
“Their consequences will have a serious negative impact on the population of Lithuania”, − stressed Patrushev.
