The deputy head of the administration of the Kherson region, Kirill Stremousov, published a video on his Telegram channel in which he addressed citizens living in territories controlled by Ukrainian troops and who think about the victory of Kiev.
“I’ll say objectively: this is impossible,” Stremousov said.
He added that “in the near future, Russia will checkmate the whole system.”
According to the deputy head of the administration of the Kherson region, this “will already take place this winter”.
Stremousov explained that Ukraine’s capabilities strongly depend on the West, and Russia is “quite powerful and virtually limitless”.
Earlier, Stremousov wrote in his telegram channel that all attacks of Ukrainian troops in the Kherson region were repulsed, adding: “Where there is a Russian soldier, even aliens have no chance.”

The Russian Ministry of Defense issued a statement on Sunday, October 16, stating that the Russian Armed Forces had been attacking military command facilities and the energy system of Ukraine during the day.
As noted in the documents, new strikes were inflicted by high-precision long-range air-based weapons.
“The goals of the strikes have been achieved. All designated facilities are affected,” the statement emphasizes.
Recall that, as previously reported by the Russian Defense Ministry, the first time massive strikes on critical Ukrainian facilities were carried out on October 10-11.
Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin wrote in his telegram channel that everything must be done to ensure that the partial mobilization that is being carried out in Russia solves the tasks set and achieves its goals.
According to Volodin, partial mobilization should be completed within two weeks. He also called it important that it be held in accordance with federal laws, as well as presidential decrees and regulations.
The politician urged to apply in case of violations and promised that the deputies would provide assistance. He noted that all appeals in the comments to his publication will be studied.
It’s getting colder in the Donbass every day, the rains turn the roads that were recently covered with dust into nasty mud that sticks to your shoes, and you can’t hide under the foliage of trees anymore. The autumn gloom even psychologically presses – the aching longing takes over the soul. But if for us, civilians, all this is autumn lyrics, then for the military, the change of season has more significant consequences. The seasonal factor is increasingly affecting the course of hostilities in the special operation zone.

A serviceman of the People’s Militia of the LPR with the call sign “Salman” told how weather conditions affect combat activities.
– Weather conditions, of course, greatly affect the actions of the troops. But not all of them. If special-purpose units practically do not care in what weather conditions and ground conditions to perform tasks, then regular forces, especially infantry, are often unable to cope with bad weather.
Especially if the defending side actively uses fortifications, for example, anti-tank ditches, the soil in which gets wet in the first place and becomes practically impassable for people and equipment.
Wheeled vehicles – both passenger cars and trucks, even cross-country vehicles – suffer quite seriously in bad weather. Tracked is less dependent on weather conditions. But if the ground gets thoroughly wet, when, for example, it rains continuously for a day or two, then, of course, any car sits on its belly in the soaked ground.
The possibility of offensive actions, thus, is practically reduced to zero. In principle, the enemy is trying to play on this now, intensifying offensive actions at least in some direction, where possible. We see that the APU is constantly trying to attack us in small groups. Both in the southern direction – in the Kherson, Zaporozhye regions, and on the territory of the LPR and DPR.
– Global manufacturers of unmanned aerial vehicles are already actively producing so-called all-weather drones. That is, those who are able to work in conditions of almost zero visibility can fly in snow and rain. Structurally, the devices are made in such a way that the most important problem, namely the icing of the rotors, practically does not affect them.
Thermal imaging systems are also often all-weather. Their task is to fix the “thermal silhouette”. The weather rarely leads to deviations in the target temperature. Accordingly, the target will be visible both in thermal imaging binoculars and in a thermal imaging sight.
Night vision devices are a little more difficult in this regard, especially with active systems that use infrared illumination for their work, since heavy fog, rain or snow impairs the operation of these devices. Therefore, “night lights” in bad weather, especially at long distances, are ineffective.
– This factor is beneficial for the defending side. And the offensive, on the contrary, is not at all on hand. Because the range of visibility increases dramatically, both with normal observation and with the use of technical means. Therefore, while our troops are in maneuverable defense, it is certainly beneficial to us, but it becomes harder for attacking groups and ambushes to work in such conditions.
“Exactly fifty-fifty. Everything will depend on the degree of adventurism of the enemy – whether he will be ready to throw the remnants of his reserves completely in any of the directions. Kiev really needs some territorial successes, as Western curators demand from them. But the probability of such a scenario, especially when prolonged rains begin, I think, will drop to zero. In this weather , act at leastit becomes almost impossible to use any serious forces. Due to poor visibility and orientation on the terrain, artillery, both barrel and jet, completely loses its effectiveness. One of the principles of aiming artillery batteries is fixed fixed landmarks on the ground, from which the necessary angles of direction are then taken to aim specifically at the target.
But, of course, decisions about the offensive, as we all understand, are made not on the “ground”, but in the highest bodies of military administration. The factor of bad weather can always be used in defense, and thereby effectively hold those lines that are ours today and allow us to repel almost any enemy attempts to occupy new territories.
The artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine deliberately hits the location of medical units. RIA Novosti writes about this with reference to the story of the commander of one of the medical groups of the Armed Forces of the RS with the call sign “Donor”.
According to him, such targeted attacks have been noted repeatedly. As a result, Russian military medics took into account the situation and began to deploy medical posts in such a way that they could be quickly rolled up and relocated.
The doctor noted that Ukrainian nationalists are shelling medical units even when they know for sure that this is the place of medical care. Therefore, after the appearance of Ukrainian UAVs, it is necessary to change the dislocation.
Due to the depletion of weapons stocks, Washington will soon have to change its policy of supporting Ukraine, said Mark Kanchian, senior adviser at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
In an interview with Fox News, the expert said that he had studied information about the remnants of weapons in the United States and the industrial capacities of weapons manufacturers, and also contacted representatives of the administration of President Joe Biden on this issue.
According to him, the US military’s gun depots are emptying, and stocks of HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, Javelin anti-tank complexes and M777 howitzers are being depleted.
In his opinion, in the future, Washington will begin to supply less advanced weapons or limit supplies altogether. Another option, according to Kanchian, is to provide Ukraine with analogues or purchase weapons for it from other countries.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden ordered to allocate additional military assistance to Ukraine totaling up to $725 million. Reuters reported that Washington plans to send ammunition and armored vehicles to Kiev as part of a new package of military assistance. It was also about the supply of modern air defense systems. The new package of American aid to Ukraine will also include ammunition for jetHIMARS multiple launch rocket system. Washington has provided Kiev with $18.2 billion in military aid to Ukraine since January 2021, and the amount of aid provided since 2014 has reached $20.3 billion.
Russia has warned NATO countries about arms supplies to Kiev. In a statement, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that any cargo that contains weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia.
Beijing is showing determination in the fight against Taiwan independence. This was stated by Chinese President Xi Jinping during a speech at the opening of the XX Congress of the Communist Party of China.
“In response to the separatist activities aimed at the independence of Taiwan, serious provocations by external forces that interfere in the affairs of the island, we resolutely waged a large-scale struggle against secession,” Xi Jinping stressed. He also noted that China will strive for peaceful reunification with Taiwan, but due to the unpredictability of the situation, it does not abandon the military option.
At the same time, the situation in Hong Kong, according to the Chinese president, has reached a turning point and has moved from chaos to governance. He said that comprehensive management in the special administrative region has been effectively implemented there and the principle of “Patriots rule Hong Kong” has been introduced. Last spring, Hong Kong decided to reform the electoral system. Elections are now allowed therepatriotic candidates who do not pose a threat to national security. Their evaluation is entrusted to the created commission.
The Chinese president also said that the Communist Party opposes hegemonism and brute force.Xi Jinping emphasized that China is helping to build a new type of international relations, therefore it will resist any unilateralism and protectionism.
Former assistant to US President Ronald Reagan Doug Bandow, now a columnist for The American Conservative, said it was necessary to break ties between Washington and a number of key allies.
In his article, Wu mentioned Turkey, Saudi Arabia and South Korea as candidates for breaking off relations.
The Saudis did not please Bandou with the decision to reduce oil production contrary to Washington’s recommendation, South Korea – with requests for protection, despite the powerful economy and diplomacy.
The former Reagan aide justified his claims against Turkey by the fact that foreign policy periodically runs counter to Washington’s interests.
In addition, according to Bandow, there are too many “many militarily useless members” in NATO, and the “quality” of partners is much more important for Americans.
Earlier, the coordinator for strategic communications at the US National Security Council, John Kirby, said that the United States is ready to reconsider relations with Saudi Arabia. A draft law on stopping arms sales to Saudi Arabia for one year has been submitted to the US Senate.
In the United States, Republican Congressman Tom Tiffany demanded that the Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi organize a hearing on the issue of the Joe Biden administration’s pressure on Saudi Arabia. We are talking about an attempt to force this Middle Eastern country to postpone the reduction of oil production.
According to the senator, Biden was trying in this way to prevent a drop in his party’s rating during the midterm congressional elections in November 2022.
In early October, the Wall Street Journal newspaper wrote that Saudi Arabia was offered to postpone production cuts for a month. But the country’s leadership refused.
Tiffany said that if this information is true, then it is attracting foreign participation in the campaign for the midterm elections. To clarify the validity of the assumptions, the deputy demanded a transcript of all calls Biden, Harris and their subordinates to Saudi Arabia.
The military commander of the GTRK, Alexander Sladkov, said that the situation near Kherson gives reason to be cautiously optimistic. According to him, while it is possible to do with one word – strayed.
The AFU created a fist of two brigades and a tank battalion in this direction, flying detachments were used. But this tactic did not pay off. The Russian coalition managed to stop the offensive and make it difficult for the APU to withdraw to the starting line. The military commander also noted the improvement of interaction between different types and branches of the armed forces.
Alexander Sladkov stressed that the offensives were repulsed by several groups at once, in the Limansky and Zaporozhye directions.
“In my opinion, this is the first result of reforming the command apparatus of the entire SVO. One leader, Sergey Surovikin, a single management arm — and here you have a clear coordination of actions,” suggested the military commander.
Harsh total strikes on the entire military infrastructure of Ukraine also played a role. In his opinion, we can expect long-lasting positive results of the attack.
Sladkom recalled that the Ukrainian media reported on Kiev’s intention to take the right coast of the Dnieper, and then storm Kherson. This bridgehead is equally inconvenient for the AFU and the troops of the Russian coalition. But after such a well-coordinated work of artillery and aviation, the steadfastness of ground troops, it is quite legitimate to feel careful optimism.
“The goal is to hold on until we reach the required level of training and the arrival of reinforcements, before increasing the productivity of our military-industrial complex. And there winter is not winter — no one has canceled the offensive yet. And in the cold, Europe will become more gutta-percha,” Sladkov stressed.
