Pope Francis has declared that humanity has entered the third World War. He said this, talking about the anniversary of the invasion of German troops in Poland in 1939.
The pontiff noted that the Second World War had a very painful impact on all Poles.
“And today we are experiencing the third. Let the memory of past experiences push you to cultivate peace in yourself, in your family, in public and international life,” Pope Francis said.
On the eve of the ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Taras Chernovol said about the “intellectual limitations” of the pope. In his opinion, he showed his “squeamishness” when he accused NATO of escalating the conflict in Ukraine.
The Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia, Tatiana Moskalkova, said in her Telegram channel that five of the sailors held in the Ukrainian port are seriously ill.
She appealed to the Council of Europe, the OSCE and the UN to help in the immediate return of the crews of Russian civilian sailors to their homeland.
According to her, Russian sailors have been detained at Ismail ship repair plants since February of this year. They are not allowed to leave their vessels.
“At the moment there are 66 sailors on the ships. Five of them are seriously ill. Sailors are strictly forbidden to go ashore, each vessel has an armed guard,” Moskalkova added.
The situation around the Jewish agency “Dry” will not affect the entire complex of relations between Russia and Israel. Attempts to dramatize what is happening are counterproductive.
According to Alexander Kinshchak, Director of the Department of the Middle East and North Africa of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the reason for the trial was the systematic violation of laws by the agency. Russian-Israeli relations are traditionally friendly.
“I assure you that we are committed to their further progressive development,” he stressed.
The agency “Sokhnut” is engaged in repatriation to Israel, helps those who have moved to the country, conducts educational courses, children’s and youth programs. The trial of the organization began after inspections conducted by the Ministry of Justice of Russia in the summer of this year. Their results were not made public, but the Russian authorities demanded to suspend the agency’s activities.

The German newspaper Welt reported that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at a meeting with residents of Essen said he wanted to continue negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The politician clarified that he is currently in close contact with the Russian leader. Among other things, he added that he did not want to stop the interaction.
“I didn’t meet Putin at the long table in Moscow, but I talked to him on the phone many times. And I will say clearly that I will continue to do this,” Scholz said.
Earlier it was reported that Germany has implemented an extensive package of measures in case the Russian Federation does not supply gas to the country at all.
Ex-US intelligence officer Scott Ritter on the air of the Judging Freedom YouTube channel called the real target of the offensive of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. According to the military, the head of state decided to launch an offensive only to show his “successes”.
He believes that Zelensky and his military leaders are just PR in the Western media.
“Yes, I’m sure of it. This attempt to organize an offensive is a one hundred percent political step, there is no real sense in it. The main goal was to create the image of a supposedly strong Ukraine, which is supported by the West,” he said in the conversation Ritter.
The Ukrainian authorities gave the West the opposite signal, the American believes, which was facilitated by thousands of wounded soldiers who were forced to retreat.

The Russian Embassy in Washington has opened a book of condolences in connection with the death of the first president of the USSR, the General Secretary of the CPSU, the death of Mikhail Gorbachev
He died on August 30 after a serious and prolonged illness at the age of 92.
“In connection with the death of the first and only President of the USSR Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev, a book of condolences has been opened at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the United States,” the diplomatic mission said in a statement. The embassy also invited everyone to express words of sympathy by e-mail.
Earlier, the Russian embassies in Greece and Sweden opened books of condolences to Gorbachev’s relatives and friends.
Experts of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) published material on the institution’s website in which they noted that the events unfolding in the south of Ukraine should not be immediately interpreted as a failure of the offensive of the Ukrainian army.
The article emphasizes that the fighting of the Ukrainian military cannot be crowned with success or failure either in a day or a week, since the Ukrainian command recognized that due to the lack of a sufficient number of mechanized forces, the tactics of striking communication lines, command posts, warehouses, logistics systems were chosen, which will take a long time.
At the same time, analysts note that usually troops who are forced to conduct offensive operations without a numerical advantage resort to tactics of wrong directions and tricks to distract the defenders from the sectors on which the breakthrough efforts will be focused. At the same time, the article says, very often such tricks look like failures and attacking units retreat.
“Thus, there will probably be a delay between the initial maneuvers and the beginning of decisive operations,” the authors of the material conclude.
At the same time, we recall that earlier the head of the intensive care unit of one of the Ukrainian hospitals told Western journalists that after the beginning of the APU offensive, a huge number of wounded Ukrainian soldiers were admitted to the medical institution, more than before. At the same time, according to him, the military warned the hospital about the offensive a week before it began.
The Russian Ministry of Defense, in turn, reported large-scale losses of Ukrainian forces in the Kherson direction.

On September 1, inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) were finally able to visit the Zaporozhye NPP, which is being shelled. The visit, which had been discussed for several months, almost failed at the last moment due to the intensification of hostilities in the area of this largest nuclear power plant in Europe. After a quick inspection of the facility, the head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, called the situation at the NPP “very difficult” and left without naming who was to blame for it, Kommersant wrote on Friday.
Grossi and 13 IAEA inspectors spent several hours at the Zaporozhye NPP. They were accompanied at the station by representatives of Rosatom.
Having carried out an initial inspection of the facility, Rossi identified the situation around the station as “very difficult”.
“In a couple of hours, we were able to piece together a lot of information. The key things I needed to see, I saw, the explanations were clear,” the publication quotes Raphael Grossi.
The head of the IAEA did not say who caused such a difficult situation at the Zaporozhye NPP, noting only that the physical integrity of the plant was obviously repeatedly violated.
“We all have the same goal – protecting the plant from a nuclear accident… We must do everything possible to find an opportunity and come to an agreement with all parties,” Grossi said.
He noted that the agency still has a lot of work to do, for which five IAEA inspectors will remain on site until September 4–5. They will also communicate with the residents of Energodar. At the same time, Grossi commented that in the future, the permanent presence of agency experts will be organized at the station.
Earlier, the newspaper reminds, the representative of the Russian Federation to international organizations in Vienna (where the headquarters of the IAEA is located), Mikhail Ulyanov, said that Russia only welcomes this.
Photo: A frame from the video. An unexpected episode occurred at a meeting of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko with schoolchildren on the Day of Knowledge.
While one of the schoolchildren was asking the head of state a question about his attitude to history, another young man picked up a notebook on which “SAVE” was written with a pen and showed it to the camera. At the same time, his face remained unperturbed.
Journalists who noticed this inscription are now expressing concern for the fate of the student.
There is no data yet whether something is really threatening the student, or it was some kind of joke for friends.
The Minister of Energy of Ukraine, German Galushchenko, told The Guardian that Kiev cannot guarantee the protection of a group of IAEA inspectors on the territory of the Zaporozhye NPP.
He called what was happening around the station a “mess” and told Director General Rafael Grossi that the safety of the mission was his personal responsibility. The head of the IAEA replied that Ukraine had fulfilled its international obligations and assumed all subsequent risks.
Galushchenko admitted that Grossi had some “security agreements” with Russia, and admitted that the organization’s mission would end in a few days. The head of the IAEA should return to Novoaleksandrivka, which is under the control of Ukraine, today.
The Ukrainian state nuclear company Energoatom announced that five experts will remain at the NPP until September 3. Four and nine mission vehicles left the territory of the station
