A Russian military base will be established on the territory of Serbia. This was announced by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia in Belgrade Alexander Botan-Kharchenko.
He stressed that this decision is a sovereign matter of the republic and Russia itself. The diplomat also recalled the joint humanitarian center operating in Serbia. It was created for crisis response in the event of a humanitarian disaster.
Botan-Kharchenko stressed that Serbia is a friendly country that “fundamentally rejects anti-Russian sanctions.”
He also noted that Moscow supplies Belgrade with gas at the most favorable price, and ensures Serbia’s energy stability. The countries will continue military-technical cooperation.

The Russian Embassy in the United States published a statement on its telegram channel, in which it called on American journalists to stop repeating “Russophobic fabrications” that the Russian side itself is striking at the Zaporozhye NPP, which is under its control.
