Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Putin is aware of the initiatives of parliamentarians concerning the DPR and the LPR. Earlier, the Communist Party declared the need to recognize these republics, and “United Russia” called for providing them with weapons. “Putin is aware of this point of view. He understands how sensitive this topic is, but now there is no reaction from the president,” Peskov said.
He noted that the situation in the unrecognized republics is very “painfully perceived” by our parliamentarians. “Our parliamentarians, our citizens cannot be indifferent to the fate of the residents of Donbass,”but so far this is a party initiative,”Peskov stressed.
Answering the question whether the Russian Federation has previously supplied weapons to the DPR and LPR or is it something new, the Kremlin speaker replied: “This is something new.”
