Participants of an unauthorized rally in Alma-Ata staged a performance. They laid out sheets of paper on the asphalt and put apples on them. Its initiator, artist Denis Stadnichuk, told the ORDA publication that they symbolize the victims of “Bloody January”.

He added that, like many, he is shocked by what happened.

“We have several scenarios that we can follow. For example, following the example of Libya, or we may be torn apart. Nauryz is coming soon, we will come here not with mourning, but with a different mood,” Stadnichuk concluded.

The protesters continue to demand that the head of the city, Yerbolat Dosayev, and his deputies come to them. They’re chanting: “Bostandyk!” (freedom). So far, only a mullah has come out to him, who began to read the Koran.

The politician Bulat Abilov was seen on the square, who said that he considered it his civic duty to attend the rally. Once he was active. In different years, he held the positions of a freelance adviser to the head of state and was elected to the Majilis. However, after two criminal cases, he retired.

Abilov proposed to rename Nazarbayev Avenue. In his opinion, the authorities themselves prepared the execution of citizens. He claims there were not 20 thousand terrorists.

“They were preparing for this option. For a day or two or three there would still be a square, the whole of Kazakhstan would come out and the government would leave. We saw that she was no longer in control,” Abilov said.

According to him, the authorities will not be able to hide the truth, everything is documented. Abilov complained that Kazakhstan is now considered an undeveloped Asian country all over the world.

“Where in the world are now officially killing 225 people per day? There is no such thing in any country,” the politician stressed.

The protesters at the independence monument began to collect money in cellophane bags to help the victims, for food and tents. One of them has already been ordered and is being taken to the square.

According to some reports, the number of police officers near the place of the action has increased. Observers report that two paddy wagons arrived and three people were detained.

Employees of the city prosecutor’s office came to the square and invited relatives of the victims and those arrested during the January events to submit applications.

Deputy Prosecutor of Almaty Nazarbai Ibraimoldaev called on the protesters to break up into groups of 10 people and promised to talk to everyone.
