Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that Kiev demanded that Moscow provide detailed explanations of its “military activities” on the border within 48 hours.

“If there is no response or its incompleteness/unreliability, Ukraine will appeal to Russia, as well as to other participants of the Vienna Document, to convene an emergency meeting where Russia will be obliged to provide explanations,” Kuleba wrote on Twitter.

According to him, the Russian Federation is required to provide explanations about the activities of its military in the territories bordering Ukraine and “in the temporarily occupied Crimea.”

Thus, the Ukrainian side, in accordance with section III of the Vienna Document, resorted to a risk reduction mechanism. The document, among other things, provides for inspections of certain areas and military units by OSCE member States.

“We will continue to make all possible diplomatic efforts to ensure the security of Ukraine,” Kuleba said.
