The Turkish newspaper Huriyyet reported that a Swedish delegation went to Ankara to discuss the application for NATO membership. This was announced by Swedish Foreign Minister Anne Linde.
Earlier, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan stated that he was watching the process of Sweden and Finland joining NATO and at the moment could not look at this fact positively.
Swedish Foreign Minister Anne Linde noted that the country’s delegation will soon go to Ankara to consider an application for membership in the North Atlantic Alliance.
