Special correspondent of the site kp.ru Dmitry Steshin talked for several hours with the surrendered militants who laid down their weapons at the Azovstal plant in Mariupol. According to him, they were young men, up to 20 years old and a little older.
The journalist reported that everyone had excellent equipment. The militants were not scared, dirty or exhausted. The surrendered explained that there is technical water in the basements of the plant, but there was “just trouble” with food. The militants admitted that they were very happy when they found a box of apples.
They didn’t feel defeated, they were like the losers of one battle. The militants believed in the mercy of the Russians and knew that no one would mock them.
One of them said that three FAB-500 bombs were required to destroy one bomb shelter. The militants at this time were “hacking into a “Counter-strike” on the grid.
The “Azovites” informed Steshin that they could stay in the catacombs until the New Year. But the wounded would not have survived so much. It is unlikely that they would have lasted until the end of the week. Moreover, as one of the militants said, the Russians “began the surrender process with an act of mercy.”
The captured officer of “Azov” reported that the combat backbone of the unit is sitting in positions and waiting for information about the first day of surrender. The militants are catching messages on the Net, but they have already realized that the Kiev authorities do not need them alive.
