The Permanent Representative of Belarus to the United Nations, Valentin Rybakov, harshly criticized the introduction of unilateral sanctions by Western countries against other states.
The Permanent Representative recalled how restrictions were imposed against Belarus when the West did not like the results of the presidential elections in the country. Then the restrictive measures were justified by the alleged “request for sanctions from the people of Belarus”.
“It was said that sanctions are freedom, sanctions are liberating… We have heard similar statements before. However, instead of sanctions, the word “labor” was used. The phrase “Labor liberates”… it was written at the entrance to the concentration camps… the Nazis during World War II”, – the Belarusian permanent representative reminded.
