The US authorities may lift sanctions against Belarusian enterprises producing fertilizers if Minsk agrees to transit Ukrainian grain through its territory, The Wall Street Journal reports.
The sources of the publication clarified that if Minsk agrees to this, the White House is ready to lift sanctions against the Belarusian potash industry for six months. In particular, the United States offers to transport grain from Ukraine by rail through Belarus to the port in the city Klaipeda (Lithuania).
Recall that in 2021, Western countries included Belaruskali, the largest producer of potash fertilizers in the world, in the sanctions list. Later, the Belarusian Potash Company (BCC) also came under restrictions.
