The militants of the nationalist battalion “Aidar”, including his command, voluntarily laid down their arms and surrendered to the servicemen of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR) near Severodonetsk. This is reported by TASS with reference to a source in the People’s Militia of the LPR.
“Tonight, the cleansing of the settlement of Metelkino (a settlement in the vicinity of the city of Severodonetsk) has been completed. Many Aidar soldiers have surrendered, among them the commanders of this punitive national battalion,” the agency quotes its source as saying.
Earlier, the liberation of the settlement of Metelkino adjacent to Severodonetsk was reported by the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov in his Telegram channel. According to him, in the battles for this village, Ukrainian military formations lost up to 700 people killed and wounded over the past week.
