The Ukrainian media spread the statements of the Mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov about his disagreement with the total renaming of Russian-language toponyms. According to the publications, the official made frank confessions in an interview with a journalist of The New York Times.

In particular, it is reported that Trukhanov opposes the renaming of Pushkinskaya Street in Odessa. According to some reports, the mayor is under pressure in this regard.

“I would not support this,” Trukhanov said. – Odessa is the multicultural capital of Ukraine”.
