Indonesian leader Joko Widodo intends to discuss the problem of exporting Ukrainian grain at an upcoming meeting in Moscow with Russian President Vladimir Putin. In addition, the parties will also discuss the upcoming summit of the Group of Twenty. This is reported by The Jakarta Post newspaper, citing its sources in the government.

During the upcoming European tour, Widodo will also visit Germany. The details of the visits will be announced after a closed meeting of the Indonesian Cabinet. The sources of the publication do not exclude that the head of state from Moscow will go directly to Kiev. It is noted that Widodo is traveling to Russia, including at the request of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

According to the authors of the material, their leader has a good chance of successful negotiations in Moscow.  Jakarta condemned the special operation in Ukraine, but opposed the imposition of sanctions against Russia. In addition, as The Jakarta Post emphasizes, “personal good relations have developed between the leaders of the countries.”

Widodo intends to invite Putin again to the G20 summit, which will be held in Bali in November. At the same time, “even if the Russian president cannot come,” the Indonesian leader will try to organize Putin’s visit “before or after the summit.”

Earlier, sources in the Kremlin reported that the meeting of the leaders of Russia and Indonesia is scheduled for June 30.
