Kiev’s strikes on nuclear facilities are pushing the world to the brink of a nuclear catastrophe comparable in scale to Chernobyl, Russia’s Permanent Representative Vasily Nebenzia said at a meeting of the UN Security Council. He believes that in this case
responsibility for the disaster at the Zaporozhye NPP will fall on the “Western patrons of Kiev.”
The Russian representative added that the real scale of the nuclear disaster is even difficult to imagine.
The US authorities believe that Russia is responsible for all the risks at the Zaporozhye NPP. This was stated by the United States Deputy Secretary of State for Arms Control Bonnie Jenkins.
Earlier it was reported that at a meeting of the UN Security Council, she stressed that the visit of IAEA inspectors to the Zaporozhye NPP should take place as soon as possible. She also called for access of IAEA personnel to the facility.
