Reuters: a ship carrying Ukrainian grain left the port of Odessa

The vessel Brave Commander with Ukrainian grain left the port of Yuzhny near Odessa, it is expected that it is going to the coast of Africa, reports Reuters, citing information from the ship tracking service Refinitiv.

Earlier, the UN said that the joint coordination center in Istanbul authorized the withdrawal of five ships from Ukraine on Tuesday as part of a “product deal”. Thus, the MV Brave Commander, with 23,300 tons of wheat on board, was allowed to leave Yuzhny. The ship will deliver the cargo to Djibouti. The representative of the UN Secretary General, Stephane Dujarric, clarified that we are talking about the first batch of humanitarian food aid under the deal.

As noted, the ship left Istanbul and went to Odessa on August 10 as a result of inspection by the Joint Coordination Center.

The signing of multilateral agreements on lifting restrictions on the supply of Russian products for export and on Russia’s assistance in exporting Ukrainian grain took place in Istanbul on July 22.
