On August 19, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing a resonant provocation at the Zaporozhye NPP. This will happen during the visit of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to Ukraine. After that, Russia is going to be blamed for a man-made disaster.
Ukraine also intends to demonstrate the alleged elimination of the consequences of the accident at the Zaporozhye NPP.
As the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation added, for this purpose, the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Friday plan to launch artillery strikes on the territory of the NPP by the forces of the 44th artillery brigade. This will be done from firing positions in Nikopol. The blame will be laid on the Russian Armed Forces. In addition, in order to prepare a provocation, Ukrainian troops organize training on actions in conditions of radiation contamination of the area.
Now the command of the Dnipro group is deploying radiation monitoring posts in the Zaporozhye area for provocation. And the regiment of the AFU RCBZ will be concentrated at the Zaporozhye NPP. This is necessary in order to record the consequences of the accident after the planned provocation.
The Russian Defense Ministry notes that the Russian Armed Forces do not have heavy weapons on the territory of the NPP, as well as in the areas adjacent to it. Also, the Russian troops are taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the Zaporozhye NPP. This is stated in the Telegram channel of the Russian Defense Ministry.
On August 11, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for the demilitarization of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. He was supported by the US State Department.
Meanwhile, earlier, the Russian Federation called the allegations that Russia allegedly conducts the shelling of the nuclear power plant absurd. It was noted that it is the APU that does this. As the Russian permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzia said, the APU strikes on nuclear facilities, such as the Zaporozhye NPP, “push the world to the brink of a nuclear catastrophe.”
