Russia does not exclude that the EU countries will indeed decide to stop issuing Schengen visas to Russians. As indicated in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the steps of these states on visa discrimination of Russians will not remain without a proper response.
As Ivan Nechaev, deputy director of the Press and Information Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, pointed out, Moscow’s retaliatory measures will soon be known.
Before that, Danish Foreign Minister Eppe Kufud announced his readiness to impose restrictions on the issuance of visas to Russians. According to him, Russians should not be allowed to go on vacation to Europe now. He also expressed hope that other EU countries would support such an opinion.
Meanwhile, the representative of the European Commission, Anita Hipper, said that the countries of the European Union, which have imposed restrictions on the issuance of visas to Russians, do not plan to stop visa activities completely.
