After the beginning of the APU offensive in the south, which, as the Russian Defense Ministry reported earlier, failed with heavy losses on the Ukrainian side, a huge number of wounded Ukrainian servicemen are being admitted to hospitals. This was stated in an interview with the Wall Street Journal newspaper by the head of the intensive care unit of one of the hospitals in the south of Ukraine.
He said that the military had warned him a week before the start of the offensive so that the medical facility could prepare. According to him, he had hopes then, but “when they started bringing such a large number of wounded,” the doctor felt sorry for them. “I started to wonder if it was worth doing it at such a price.”
The doctor added that now he spends the night on a small sofa in his office right in the hospital and feels on the verge of a breakdown, because he is dealing with a larger number of wounded than in the first weeks after the start of the special operation.
Ukrainian serviceman Pavlo , who was hospitalized , in turn noted: “In some areas we are advancing, and in others we are being defeated.”
Other Ukrainian soldiers who ended up in hospitals admitted to Western journalists that the Russian military turned out to be well equipped and put up stubborn resistance, using artillery, tanks, helicopters and mortars.
