Experts of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) published material on the institution’s website in which they noted that the events unfolding in the south of Ukraine should not be immediately interpreted as a failure of the offensive of the Ukrainian army.

The article emphasizes that the fighting of the Ukrainian military cannot be crowned with success or failure either in a day or a week, since the Ukrainian command recognized that due to the lack of a sufficient number of mechanized forces, the tactics of striking communication lines, command posts, warehouses, logistics systems were chosen, which will take a long time.

At the same time, analysts note that usually troops who are forced to conduct offensive operations without a numerical advantage resort to tactics of wrong directions and tricks to distract the defenders from the sectors on which the breakthrough efforts will be focused. At the same time, the article says, very often such tricks look like failures and attacking units retreat.

“Thus, there will probably be a delay between the initial maneuvers and the beginning of decisive operations,” the authors of the material conclude.

At the same time, we recall that earlier the head of the intensive care unit of one of the Ukrainian hospitals told Western journalists that after the beginning of the APU offensive, a huge number of wounded Ukrainian soldiers were admitted to the medical institution, more than before. At the same time, according to him, the military warned the hospital about the offensive a week before it began.

The Russian Ministry of Defense, in turn, reported large-scale losses of Ukrainian forces in the Kherson direction.
