Japanese journalist Asuka Tokuyama, in an interview with the Daily Shinco, said that Ukraine is to blame for fueling the conflict in the Donbass.
She clarified that she visited Donetsk last summer and came to the conclusion that the representatives of Donbass did not need a military conflict.
“As a journalist living in Russia, in June I went to Donetsk. There was a completely peaceful landscape there,” Tokuyama said.
There she held a meeting with the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, who told her that the city was gradually returning to normal life. At the same time, those who left them earlier due to the conflict are returning to their homes.
According to her, even then, local residents wanted to hold a referendum on the accession of the DPR to Russia as soon as possible.
