The firefight on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan has stopped, the administration of the Batken region of Kyrgyzstan informs on Wednesday.
As the border guards note, there are no casualties, it is quiet on other sections of the border.
A representative of the administration said that the situation on the border had already been discussed by the Governor of the Batken region of Kyrgyzstan, Abdikarim Alimbayev, and the head of the Sughd region of Tajikistan, Rajabboy Akhmadzoda. In addition, representatives of the border services of the two states are currently in touch and are working on the spot.
Recall that on Wednesday morning, the border service announced a shootout between Kyrgyz and Tajik border guards. According to the department’s version, it occurred due to the fact that the Tajik border patrol took up combat positions on an undescribed section of the border.
There has been no comment from the Tajik side yet.
