Kyrgyzstan reported a stable situation on the border with Tajikistan

Border Guard Service The State Committee for National Security (GKNB) of Kyrgyzstan reported that the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border remains stable as of the morning of September 15. There was a shootout there on September 14.

“The situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border is characterized as relatively stable. The night passed quietly, no incidents were recorded,” Bishkek said.

Agreements were reached earlier.  During the night, the parties “completed the withdrawal of additional forces and means to the points of permanent deployment.”

Two Tajik border guards were killed and six others were injured in a shootout on the border with Kyrgyzstan. Five civilians were also wounded, the authorities of the Tajik border town of Isfara reported

Several wounded people were taken to the Vorukh village hospital, and those who were seriously injured were taken to the Isfara city Hospital.

Earlier, the border service of Kyrgyzstan reported that the Tajik border patrol took up combat positions on an undescribed section of the border, which caused a shootout. Two people were injured from Kyrgyzstan.  Tajikistan also stated that Kyrgyzstan started firing unreasonably.
