The Azerbaijani army entered the territory of Armenia and advanced 7.5 kilometers in the direction of Jermuk in the east of the country. This was stated by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia Edward Asryan.
“In this direction, the enemy has ensured a certain success. The Azerbaijani armed forces invaded the sovereign territory of Armenia with a front width of 8.5 kilometers and a depth of 7.5 kilometers,” he said during a briefing for foreign ambassadors.
Asryan clarified that before the start of hostilities at the beginning of the week, the distance from the city of Jerumk to the border with Azerbaijan was 11-12 kilometers.
Currently, the Azerbaijani military, according to the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, are located 4.5 kilometers from the city.
Asryan also stated that the Azerbaijani armed forces have advanced one or two kilometers in the direction of the settlement of Nerkin and Syunik region and Shorzha Gegharkunik region, and 0.5 kilometers in the direction of the settlement of Ishkhanasar.
