The Pentagon leadership has spoken out against the transfer of long-range missiles to Ukraine. This was reported by NBC with reference to its own sources. According to him, the White House postponed consideration of Kiev’s request in this regard due to fears of a backlash from Russia.
Representatives of the US High Command believe that Ukraine is capable of hitting ATACMS ballistic missiles on the territory of Russia, which could lead to further escalation of the situation.
On the eve of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba in an interview with the American TV channel PBS spoke about negotiations with the United States on the supply of long-range missiles. He confirmed that Kiev was counting on this type of ammunition, and said that he did not rule out a positive decision by Washington on this matter.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned that agreeing to supply long-range missiles to Ukraine would turn the United States into a direct participant in the conflict. In this case, Russia reserves the right to defend the territory by all available means.
