Bloomberg, citing its own sources, reported that the European Union is considering a German proposal to ban EU citizens from holding senior positions in state-owned companies in Russia.
It is clarified that if representatives of the European Commission officially submit this proposal, and the EU country approves it, the ban may also apply to ex-German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder.
Recall that Schroeder currently heads the Board of directors of Nord Stream 2 AG and the shareholders committee of Nord Stream AG.
Earlier, the German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung reported that Germany sent an official letter to the EU countries calling for banning EU citizens from holding senior positions in Russian state-owned companies.
