The speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin proposed to give cars left at the border of Russia belonging to Russians who left the country, relatives of military personnel.
“We need to think about who to give these cars to,” Volodin said at the meeting. – Maybe to the families of those guys who went to fight.”
He added that he believes “it will be the right thing to do.”
Over the past week, large accumulations of cars intending to cross the border have formed on the roads to the checkpoints on the border of the Russian Federation. The most tense situation has developed at several checkpoints on the border with Kazakhstan, the most serious – on the border with Georgia, near the Upper Lars checkpoint. According to the latest estimates, the traffic jam to the Upper Lars has reached 20 km, the waiting time in the queue is several days. At the same time, the participants in the queue complained to journalists that some local residents, taking advantage of the situation, offer themhelp for a lot of money either – buy their cars at a big discount. Since September 26, pedestrian passage has been allowed at the checkpoint. The Baza telegram channel, meanwhile, said that FSB officers detained several policemen and taxi drivers in the area, who allegedly conspired to extort from the participants of the traffic jam. In social networks, motorists have repeatedly complained that taxi drivers actually blocked the highway, which significantly aggravated the traffic situation, and for money they delivered passengers to the checkpoint to bypass traffic jams.
The authorities of North Ossetia have previously stated that they will issue summonses to those registered in this region at the checkpoint. A little later, Governor Sergei Menyailo said that summonses would be issued to all citizens of the Russian Federation subject to mobilization according to the lists of the Ministry of Defense.
