US President Joe Biden, declaring that he would end the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline, did not mean its destruction. This was stated by the White House press secretary Karin Jean-Pierre.

As the representative of the American administration noted, the president said that he would not allow the commissioning of the Russian gas pipeline. To do this, he was going to work with Germany. In February 2022, Germany really stopped the gas pipeline, so, according to Jean-Pierre, Biden got his way.

Earlier, former Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski wrote “Thank you, USA” after the news of the sabotage on the gas pipeline. This circumstance allowed both Russia and a number of Western politicians to suspect Washington of involvement in the sabotage of the gas pipeline. Russian officials quoted Biden, who threatened to end the pipeline.
