US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said he would not guess who was responsible for the incidents on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream—2 gas pipelines. The press conference was broadcast on the Twiiter of the American Defense Department.
Austin assured that on Wednesday he discussed the emergency with his Danish counterpart.
“Until we receive the full amount of information to conduct further analysis, we will not guess who may be responsible,” the US representative added.
A Pentagon representative commented on the data of the Flightradar24 resource that US military helicopters regularly flew in the area of gas leaks from the Nord Stream gas pipelines near Bornholm Island during September. At the same time, helicopters circled for hours over the water area where the gas pipelines run.
Recall that the authorities of Germany and Denmark did not rule out that sabotage was the cause of the emergency on the Nord Stream 2 and Nord Stream 1 gas pipelines. At the same time, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia initiated the initiation of a case on an act of international terrorism.
