The Greece—Bulgaria intersystem gas pipeline has been officially put into operation. According to it, Bulgaria will be able to receive a billion cubic meters of gas from Azerbaijan annually, as well as liquefied gas from Greece.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at the commissioning ceremony of the IGB interconnector in Sofia that the country plans to double gas supplies to Europe by 2027.
Last year, Azerbaijani gas exports amounted to about 19 billion cubic meters (8.2 billion to Europe). European supplies increased by 40% over the year, Aliyev noted.
In 2022, exports will be increased to more than 22 billion. cubes. Of these, 11.5 billion cubic meters will be sent to European consumers.
